Advancing the work: Weekly Construction Activities

The project involves an occupied, phased renovation of the existing EGHS facility, which will include:

  • A new addition to support the Life Skills program, featuring an apartment, vocational/technical lab, PT and OT spaces, and additional classrooms.

  • Renovation of locker rooms, team rooms, and athletic storage areas.

  • Reconfiguration of the Upper Gym to include a basketball court and new Fitness/Adaptive PE space.

  • Thermal comfort, acoustic, and code upgrades to the Auditorium.

  • Renovation and reconfiguration of the Arts Suite, including Ceramics, Photography, and Fashion classrooms.

  • General Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Code Upgrades.

Activities this week: ( August 31 – September  04, 2026)

 

      • Addition:
        • Continued to complete pulling wire to electrical boxes.
        • Continue installing windows.
        • Continue to final terminate seams and set sleepers.
        • Continue the overhead MEP on both levels.
        • Complete inwall inspections
        • Begin to board, tape, and sand walls.
      • Auditorium:
        • Continue electrical rough and routing.
        • Continue to drop ducts into interior.
      • Locker Room:
        • Continue installing CMU walls.
        • Continue MEP in-wall and overhead.
      • Mechanical Room
        • Continue exterior site work for RIE inspection.
        • Continue interior conduit, ground, primaries, and connections work.
        • Complete installing and tying in boiler piping.
        • Begin powering connections to boilers and pumps.
        • Continue installing control wiring to equipment.
      • Upper Gym
        • Continue overhead MEP work.
        • Complete framing divider wall.
        • Begin in-wall rough at the divider wall.
      • Exterior Site:
        • Begin underground utility work.
        • Complete relocating storage areas.

      Activities for next week: (   September 07 – 11, 2026)

      • Addition:
        • Continue the overhead MEP both levels.
        • Complete installing windows.
        • Continue installing roof top unit power connections.
        • Continue to board, tape, and sand walls.
        • Continue to complete final terminate seams and set sleepers.
      • Auditorium:
        • Continue dropping duct into the interior.
        • Begin to complete relocating conduits below the ducts.
      • Locker Room:
        • Continue installing CMU walls.
        • Continue MEP in-wall and overhead.
        • Begin installing lintel at brick openings in Health Classroom.
      • Mechanical Room
        • Continue RIE transformer work.
        • Continue powering connections to boilers and pumps.
        • Begin to install water and gas connections to boilers.
        • Continue to complete installing control wiring to equipment.
      • Upper Gym:
        • Continue overhead ductwork, pipe, and electrical.
        • Continue to sawcut exterior openings.
        • Begin to complete install of lintels at the openings for the windows.
      • Exterior Site:
        • Continue underground utility work.
        • Begin prep for bus loop.
        • Begin to complete repairing the sprinkler head/line.
        • Begin to tie into the drainage and backwater valve.
